On Saturday I visited Navy Beach in Montauk for a late lunch. Navy Beach happens to be one of my favorite places in Montauk and as usual it was a pleasure dining at the 200-foot private beach in Montauk. Navy Beach is the brainchild of partners Frank & Kristina Davis, Franklin Ferguson, Leyla Marchetto and Martin Cabrera and splashed on the Montauk restaurant scene in 2010. It is a laid-back, family-friendly waterfront restaurant offering a memorable dining experience in a beach setting with coastal food and one of the best sunset views. The kitchen delivers a high quality fish centric menu with an emphasis on sustainable seafood and local seasonal produce. We tried the tuna tataki salad that includes red quinoa, green beans, roasted red pepper and wasabi soy vinaigrette, which was the perfect dish to go along with the beautiful setting. The chilled shrimp was also a fantastic choice. On July 26 and July 27 Navy Beach will host its annual American Summer Riviera themed beach and boat weekend. Come by boat (NOS Station 8510560, 41° 02' 45.11" N, 71° 57' 44.8"W) or by land and enjoy two afternoons of special guest DJ Madrid starting at 2 PM. Reggae favorite Twister will play a special "Soul Train Saturday" themed performance on Saturday night, and a One Love Sunday reggae sunset set starting at 5 PM on Sunday. Photographer Nate Best will be on site both afternoons capturing the scene and festivities. The restaurant will feature a special Chandon American Summer pairing menu all weekend.
