Headlights In Blue by Anne Goffin Smith This year The Retreat is holding the opening for the sixth Annual Hamptons Juried Art Show at the Richard J. Demato Fine Arts Gallery in Sag Harbor. The Retreat, the only non-profit domestic violence agency serving the East End of Long Island, presents the top 25 artists that are featured in a group show opening on Saturday from 6:30 to 8:30 PM. Here are some of the featured works, listed by artist, that were selected from over 300 global entries. At the opening reception the top three "best in show" will be announced by judges Christina Strasfield, Chief Curator of Guild Hall, and Janet Goleas, Curator of the Islip Art Musuem. Those artists win a separate group exhibition at the gallery to be held in 2015.
The Retreat's mission is to provide safety, shelter and support for victims of domestic abuse and to break the cycle of family violence. The show runs through December 22.
