Guild Hall in East Hampton presents "Stirring the Pot: Conversations with Culinary Celebrities" with Dominique Ansel, hosted and interviewed by Florence Fabricant on Sunday at 11 AM. A Q&A and book signing will follow the interview.
Ansel is the chef and owner of Dominique Ansel Bakery in New York City. Chef Ansel is perhaps best-known for his creation of the Cronut™, a croissant and doughnut hybrid that is known throughout the world. It is also the first pastry to have been so in demand that it sells of up to 20x its retail price on the black market.
The Chef’s various other inventions, including his Frozen S’more, Magic Soufflé, Cookie Shot, and Waffle Affogato, have fast become popular treats with international fame. In 2014, Chef Ansel won the James Beard Award for Outstanding Pastry Chef. Before opening his own bakery, he was the executive pastry chef at Daniel, Daniel Boulud’s flagship French restaurant.
