On May 18, The Samuel Waxman Cancer Research Foundation presented "Collaborating For A Cure Luncheon and Fashion Presentation" showcasing Oscar de la Renta in New York City hosted by Andrea Stark. The lovely afternoon included catering by CxRA and wine by Palm Bay. Guests went home with gifts from Oscar de la Renta, Hampton Jam Company and 240 Sweet. The afternoon also featured a raffle which included an array of accessory, beauty and lifestyle products from designers such as Arlotta Cashmere, St John and Lafayette 148. The event served as a kick off for the 12th annual "A Hamptons Happening" feast, a culinary event, which will be held on Saturday, July 9, in Bridgehampton. The event is a celebration of the 40th Anniversary of the founding of the Samuel Waxman Cancer Research Foundation. This year's event will honor Sandra Lee, philanthropist, author and television personality and Jayma Cardoso, the owner of The Surf Lodge in Montauk. The honorary lead chef couple will be Fernanda Capobianco the founder of Vegan Divas, journalist and cookbook author and François Payard, pastry chef, restaurateur and author. Join event founding chairpersons Marion Waxman and Laurie Schaffran, along with event co-chair Karen Amster-Young, and event MC Chris Wragge to collaborate for a cure for cancer. The mission of the Samuel Waxman Cancer Research Foundation is to eradicate cancer by funding cutting-edge research that identifies and corrects abnormal gene function that causes cancer. This research is the basis for developing minimally toxic treatments for patients, which is particularly crucial for children and seniors battling cancer. Tickets begin at $375 with a millennial ticket (30 and under) for $175. For tickets and sponsorship information visit www.waxmancancer.org.
