The Backyard At Solé East

Last weekend I headed to The Backyard Restaurant at Solé East in Montauk for a delicious dinner at the beautiful locale. The Backyard restaurant is a hidden gem in Montauk located within the Solé East hotel. They offer a fun, lively, fresh concept, focusing on local and sustainable seasonal cuisine. For our appetizers we started with the beet salad, a perfect starter that included bib lettuce, candied walnuts, goat cheese crumbles, pumpernickel croutons, with a sherry and citrus vinaigrette. The steamed P.E.I mussels were also wonderful, prepared with leeks, plum tomato, capers, parsley butter, white wine and a grilled garlic bread. The restaurant offers a "Simply Off The Grill" section of the menu with choices of meat including skirt steak, yellow fin tuna, diver scallops and more. I decided on the wild striped bass of the grill with a side of grilled asparagus. The dish was simple and grilled to perfection. My friend ordered the pan seared sea scallops as her main, which came with Puy lentils, roasted tomato, baby artichoke, and a saffron aioli. The delectable dish did not disappoint. For dessert we opted to split the berries and lemon cream. The sweet treat included a vanilla tuille and blueberry compote. The dining room features a clean and fresh atmosphere with rotating art exhibits of local artists and photographers adorning the walls. The outdoor patio welcomes guests to sit at tables placed throughout the garden that surround the pool, roaring fire pit, tiki torches, and day beds. The restaurant welcomes guests not only for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, but also for live music and cocktails. Whether you go for a meal, cocktails, or for the live entertainment, The Backyard Restaurant at Solé East is sure to be a hit. This week at The Backyard Restaurant the venue provides live reggae music by Winston Irie from 7 PM to midnight on Thursday. On Friday, Jettykoon performs with special guests from 6 PM to midnight and a DJ from 11 PM to 1 AM. On Saturday DJ Anna will be poolside from 1 to 6 PM and Nancy Atlas will perform from 6 to 9 PM. On Sunday it's a Bossa Nova Brunch from 11 AM to 3 PM and DJ Anna poolside from 9 PM to 1 AM.
