On Sunday morning Guild Hall presented Stirring the Pot: Conversations with Culinary Celebrities with Jean-Georges Vongerichten. The morning began with a VIP pre-talk, and champagne reception, followed by a discussion with the chef. The series is hosted by Florence Fabricant, acclaimed food writer and regular contributor to The New York Times dining section, who interviewed Vongerichten. Though Vongerichten is one of the world's most famous chefs, his skills extend far beyond the kitchen. A savvy businessman and restaurateur, Jean-Georges is responsible for the operation and success of three and four star restaurants worldwide. Jean-Georges currently manages and operates 30 restaurants across the globe, including 11 in his hometown, New York. Vongerichten has most recently taken over the restaurant at Topping Rose House in Bridgehampton, which has received rave reviews. At the end of the discussion, one lucky guest went home with a $500 gift certificate to the restaurant. What's next for Vongerichten? He will soon be opening a vegetarian restaurant in New York City. Two years from now, expect to see his re-creation of the Fulton Fish Market in Manhattan. The series continues this Sunday with Danny Meyer, the CEO of Union Square Hospitality Group and the founder of Shake Shack. On Sunday, August 28, the series will bring Wolfgang Puck to Guild Hall. The famed chef has built a brand that encompasses three companies: Wolfgang Puck Fine Dining Group, Wolfgang Puck Catering, and Wolfgang Puck Worldwide, Inc. Tickets to each discussion are $15 or $50 to include the VIP pre-talk and champagne reception. For tickets and more information visit www.guildhall.org.
