OVOO ORIGINAL DESIGN OPENS FIRST LOCATION IN U.S

Brazilian luxury design, art and interior emporium, OVOO Original Design, recently launched its Miami Design District showroom. The store is the first United States location.

Described as a fusion of design, furniture and art, OVOO opened its doors at 3650 North Miami Avenue, on December 1 with an exclusive rooftop soiree in celebration of its new home. Two-hundred furniture designers were in attendance, including architects Laila Colvin and Rafaela Simoes with 2id Interiors, Gisele Taranto, and Mario Santos, who designed the showroom space. In addition, several design students were presented with the prestigious Moral Mais award for their outstanding works in interior design.

OVOO offers a selection of contemporary high-end design pieces catered to those looking to create an elegant space without giving up comfort. The luxury furniture combines the best of Brazilian design, fabric and leathers with unique wooden, and one of a kind pieces from Brazil, creating the perfect ambiance for your home. “OVOO showcases innovative forms and intriguing perspectives on tradition furniture,” explains founder Marta Micheli. OVOO has two stores in Brazil, one in Niteroi, and another in Rio de Janeiro with a third one opening in São Paulo soon.

The OVOO furniture collections include benches, tables, armchairs, chaises, shelves and sculptures, fashioned out of rare woods such as pequi, garapeira, red, ipê, among others. Select pieces were previously unreleased and several are of limited quantity. The designers represented in the inaugural presentation include Zanini de Zanini, Pedro Franco, Bruno Falcz, Ronald Scliar Sasson, Fernando Zanardi, Guilherme Wentz, Edu Bortolai, Bernardo Senna, Ângelo Davosin and Thadeu Paisan.

Two of the designers, Hugo Franca and Paulo Alves, at the Miami launch, discussed their mix of the geometry of the woodwork with the organic forms of the wood. In addition, the space was installed with art from Brazilian artists, Alexandre Iódice, Gui Kalil and Alê Jordão.
