On Friday morning I set out to try Elements Fitness Studio's newest offering -- Standup Paddle Barre Fitness. Owner and founder Andrea Fornarola Hunsberger has collaborated with paddleboard guru and fitness expert Jon Ball to create a series of unique paddle barre and fitness classes that are available this summer. The paddle took place at 1 Landing Land in Springs, where I participated in Elements SUP Style & SUP Tech to introduce me to the sport of SUP and prepare me for the more advanced SUP classes. To take a class you will need to be comfortable in the water and know how to swim, although you do not need to know how to paddle, the instructors will adjust the class to each level of the participants. The more advanced paddler might choose the Elements Paddle Fit Class or Elements SUP Barre which are also available. The class provided a fantastic fitness experience in a beautiful setting. Elements Fitness Studio in East Hampton will host a special jewelry trunk show on Friday from 9 AM to noon featuring Same Sky – Jewelry with Purpose. Same Sky features jewelry crafted by artisan women of Rwanda. Same Sky is a trade initiative that works to create employment opportunities for women struggling to lift themselves out of extreme poverty. With collectives based in Rwanda and the USA, Same Sky sees firsthand that real change happens with the dignity of work and the freedom of being self-sufficient. They tap into the Same Sky Artisans' talent and potential and provide them with training and tools. The Rwandan artisans earn 15 to 20 times the average wage in Sub Saharan Africa, and 100 percent of net proceeds are reinvested to train and employ more artisans in need. The true value of a Same Sky bracelet is empowerment. It is a ribbon that ties you to courageous women a world away—a beautiful piece of jewelry made more beautiful by the connection it symbolizes and how it makes you feel. All proceeds from the trunk show will go directly back to Same Sky to benefit the cause.

Andrea Fornarola Hunsberger of Elements Fitness Studio is bringing the barre to the beach in Montauk with a pop up barre fitness class at Gurney's on Saturday at 10 AM and 11 AM. Developed by Andrea Fornarola Hunsberger, Element Fitness barre is a Lotte Berk inspired method that fuses isometric exercises and interval training with ballet conditioning, the principles of Pilates core work and yoga stretches. Considered by many to be the foundation of functional training, Elements Barre Fitness is a 60 minute strength building and toning class. This class utilizes a series of choreographed exercises linking ballet conditioning and the principles of muscle overload to increase the metabolic rate and melt away fat. The class is open to guests of Gurney's Montauk as well as the public. The fee for each class is $36. For more details on the pop up class go to https://elementsatgurneys.splashthat.com.
