A Spa Day At Gurney’s Montauk Resort & Seawater Spa

It’s hard to find a venue in the Hamptons that exhibits the beauty that surrounds Gurney’s Montauk Resort & Seawater Spa. The Seawater Spa at Gurney’s is the perfect haven for relaxation, providing guests with an unparalleled experience.

On a rainy day last week I headed to the spa to indulge in the Ultimate Herbal Body Wrap. What I received was the ultimate spa day in Montauk. The treatment was just what I needed to replenish my skin after a summer with too much time spent in the sun.

A lot of changes have taken place at Gurney’s over the past two years. The hotel is under new ownership led by George Filopoulos and Lloyd Goldman. In partnership with LDV Hospitality, Gurney's has opened five new F&B venues including the wellknown Scarpetta Restaurant. The property has undergone major renovations, and the year-round spa destination is as magnificent as ever.

The amenities are all top-of-the-line, including the signature ocean-fed seawater swimming pool, Roman bath and steam room. Enjoy the waters of the only authentic Thalasso Center in the United States that was started over 30 years ago by the visionary founder, Nick Monte. The Thalasso programs utilize sea water and seaweed in the marine enriched environment for therapeutic purposes.

The Ultimate Herbal Body Wrap I experienced is a 50-minute, three step body treatment beginning with a body polish using mineral salts combined with an aromatic body gel to exfoliate the skin, followed by a relaxing wrap with herbal infused steamed towels and finished with an application of a rich herbal body lotion. The treatments include products with lavender essential oils for relaxation or rosemary essential oils for revitalization. The result: softer skin and a feeling of rejuvenation. A perfect treatment to experience now, at the changing of seasons.

Looking for a staycation? Stay in one of Gurney’s 109 rooms, suites and beachfront cottages, each with dramatic ocean views. Enjoy the spa. Have dinner at Scarpetta. You are guaranteed nothing but an incredible experience.
